Bouba Dola

Bouba Dola is a multi-talent from Kinshasa, Congo. As a child of a political refugee, he grew up in Brabant, lived in various cities, and eventually made Rotterdam his home. Bouba Dola is a versatile artist whose work spans a variety of media, from digital collage to film directing. He has a bold and vibrant visual style and an ability to tell powerful and emotional stories through his art. His impact in the art world is undeniable, with a style that is simultaneously African and universal, Bouba’s work appeals to a wide audience.

He is known for his diverse artistic expressions, including digital collage, theater set design, film directing, music composition and video production. Bouba’s digital collages are renowned for their bold and vibrant colors and their unique blend of traditional and contemporary elements. His theater designs are equally dynamic and often incorporate elements of his digital collages. As a film director, Bouba has directed several films and music videos, many of which have received critical acclaim and been seen at various film festivals around the world.
Dola’s work has been exhibited in galleries and festivals around the world, including the IFFR, Netflix Us, Boijmans van Beuningen, Africa in motion Film Festival, The Pan Africa Film Festival, Het Nieuwe Instituut, CBK Zuid-Oost, Zuidplein Theater, Bozar, and the Dutch Film Festival.
