In recent years, this self-taught filmmaker, screenwriter and visual artist has consistently made a big impression at leading film festivals such as Venice, Berlin and Sundance.<br \/>\nWith films such as<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><i>Mother I am Suffocating. This Is my Last Film About You<\/i><span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>(2018) and<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><i>This Is Not a Burial, It&#8217;s a Resurrection<\/i><span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>(2019) he has proved himself to be one of the most dynamic and original voices in the contemporary film landscape. In terms of form, style and theme, his films balance between the personal and the universal, connecting as they do the post-colonial landscape to earlier oral narrative traditions.
