Juliana Erazo

Juliana Erazo is a Colombian filmmaker based in The Netherlands, graduated from the Animation MA in St. Joost. She focuses on the interaction of animated documentary and visual metaphors, with her work she brings together the visual richness inspired in latin culture along with her experiences as a female and a migrant. She participates actively as a speaker and lecturer on topics like inclusivity, animated documentary and female representation among others. She contributes to the animation community also as part of the Women in Animation Colombia association as well as her former coordinator role for La Truca International Animation Festival in Cali, Colombia. In 2020 she was selected for the Next Talent Program founded by Noord Brabant and coordinated by Playgrounds, which allowed her to develop her next steps in her career in the Netherlands. Currently she finalized her debut animated documentary about unconventional motherhood titled “Unlearning Motherhood”, which has earned a realization fund from The Film Fonds and a Stimuleringsfonds grant and is produced by Richard Valk. To be released in 2025.
