Arne Leddy (June 26, 1972) is an experienced production designer with over 20 years of experience in the Dutch film and television world.
He works for very diverse types of productions in all genres; from Overspel, Celblok H, commercials to a Misfit. Sometimes prompted by circumstances but ultimately embraced by the love for variety and love for the profession.
After studying Audiovisual Design at the Utrecht School of the Arts (1997), Arne developed into an art director with a practical approach. He currently wants to expand his digital skills at the Vrijplaats, in order to apply this directly to the production he is working on.
Research question:
I would like to further explore the possibilities of supplementing my work on physical film sets with virtual elements. As a production designer, I want to be able to communicate more effectively with SFX teams. Where are the boundaries between physical and virtual sets? Will we mainly continue to film on location in the future, or will moving to studios become more common? If the work is to move primarily to the studio, how do you design a virtual set, and what role could AI play in this? What are the possibilities of augmented reality, and what is the minimum required in terms of physical set pieces to create an atmosphere that supports actors in delivering acting performances?
