About FilmForward

FilmForward is committed to the professional development of working film and audiovisual professionals. We offer a wide range of workshops, masterclasses, and talent development programmes. In developing these programmes, we work closely with professionals and sector organisations, like trade unions and talent hubs.

FilmForward was founded with support from the Netherlands Film Fund, with the aim of strengthening and connecting the existing field within the entire sector. The organisation focuses on professionals from various disciplines, regions, and experience levels. With a future-oriented and inclusive vision, FilmForward offers hundreds of professionals from different disciplines the opportunity to deepen their professional practice and learn from one another.

Mission and Vision
Our mission is to strengthen the position of working film professionals. We foster a learning culture focused on the future, and support interaction and knowledge sharing between disciplines. We ensure equal opportunities for development, give space to underrepresented perspectives, and build a structure in which professionals can continue to develop sustainably. By connecting networks, sharing knowledge, and stimulating collective growth, we contribute to a strong, diverse, and socially engaged film sector.

Our vision is a film and audiovisual sector that is inclusive, innovative, and internationally oriented. A sector that produces high-quality, competitive productions, and remains relevant in a rapidly changing world. Within this sector, film professionals develop sustainably, both artistically and professionally, with room for reflection, collaboration, and new forms of storytelling.
