Logline: In the tragicomic sci-fi drama “Boy Meets Bot,” the “boy” in the title is actually an average man in his early forties, trying to cope with the loss of his late wife by acquiring a hyperrealistic RoboPartner. What begins as the seemingly perfect solution to his grief, turns into a nightmare when his RoboPartner discovers she’s a bot.
Victoria Warmerdam previously directed the comedy Short Calf Muscle and the short sci-fi drama I Am Not a Robot, which won Best Short Film at the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival and the Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film at the 2025 Academy Awards.
