Biserka Šuran (1989) is a Dutch-Croatian film director, based in Amsterdam. During her high school years she started making films and has been doing so since. With her first documentary Uit Liefde, a film about domestic abuse amongst men, she was accepted into the Dutch Film Academy. In 2015 she graduated as a documentary director with the documentary film Allez, Viens!
Her debut film Scenes with my father premiered in 2022 in the main competition of the IDFA and was subsequently shown and awarded at various international festivals. In 2024 she is one of the chosen ‘Package Deal talents’; the talent development program of the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts.
She is currently working on various projects in the Netherlands and Croatia.
