Director Eché Janga graduated from the Dutch Film Academy in 2010 with his examination film MO, which immediately won several prizes. After making a number of short films that were shown at festivals such as Oberhausen Short Film Festival and Aspen Shortsfest, he directed his first feature film HELIUM in 2014.
HELIUM was screened in competition at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) and won two golden Calves for Best Camera and for Best Music. His second feature BULADÓ was the opening film of the Dutch Film Festival 2020 and won the Golden Calf for Best Film. Eché is currently working on a new feature film that will also largely take place in Curaçao.
Eché Janga was a speaker during the Multi-voice Storytelling workshop 2020 and 2021.
