Brian Donovan

Brian Donovan began his career after graduating MA from the University of Glasgow when he joined the world-renowned Citizens’ Theatre. With the emergence of Channel 4 in the 80s, and the consequential expansion in Film and TV drama in the UK, he began a Production career which now spans more than three decades. Starting out in low budget TV drama he has covered the full spectrum of Production levels from modest but ambitious Independents to full blown Major Studio Features and, more recently, High-End TV.

In the independent sector his notable Production credits include Bridget Jones’s Diary, The Last Station, and Star Wars. From among his Major Studio credits Allied [Paramount], Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur [Warner Bros], and Pan [Warner Bros] were projects where he led the Production teams as UPM. Work abroad as UPM on location took him to Prague [Alien v Predator], Budapest [Dracula], Italy [Man from UNCLE], Iceland [Justice League], and Paris [Mission Impossible]. B
eing competent in French, Italian, and German languages was a boon when collaborating with local crews and producers. Most recently a career redirection has seen him credited as Co-Producer on The Rook [Lionsgate] and as Producer on His Dark Materials 2 [HBO/BBC] and Princess Switch 3 [Netflix, LA].
