Ena Sendijarević made a name for herself with her feature debut Take Me Somewhere Nice (2019), which was selected for the ACID section of the Cannes film festival. The film won, among others, the Special Jury Prize at the International Film Festival Rotterdam and the Grand Prix at the Sarajevo Film Festival. She previously attracted international attention with her short film Import, which had its world premiere at Cannes’ Directors Fortnight in 2016 and was the Dutch entry for the Oscars. Her second feature film, Sweet Dreams (2023), premiered in the main competition of Locarno and won the Pardo for best performance. Sweet Dreams is also the Dutch entry for the Oscars.
