Quirine Racké & Helena Muskens

Quirine Racké & Helena Muskens direct and produce films and documentaries exploring the interlocking themes of identity and community. Their films have been shown all over the world at film festivals, in museums and on television. For example at the Getty Center in Los Angeles, the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the Whitechapel Art Gallery in London, LA Freewaves Festival in Los Angeles, New York Film Festival at Lincoln Center, IFFR in Rotterdam and IDFA in Amsterdam.

In 2002 Quirine & Helena received the Viper Award at the Viper Festival in Basel for their short film The Tower about an Austrian aristocratic hippie family. It was bought by Harvard and Stanford University to study its narrative and editing techniques. Their films and documentaries, like Celebration, Come Back Kate, I Love Venice, and Back to the Past are distributed by Films Transit International in Montreal / New York, Eye International Amsterdam, Off the Fence Amsterdam / London and Video Data Bank Chicago. They are broadcast by many international networks including SVT Sweden, RTE Ireland, VPRO and NTR the Netherlands, Yle Finland, Canvas Belgium, HBO Poland, France 5, Amazon India, Bilibili China and SundanceTV in the USA.
