Sam Nemeth

Sam Nemeth is a Human–Computer Interaction (HCI) researcher, director, and journalist. After working for the Intelligent Design Research Group of the Technical University of Eindhoven, he became a doctoral researcher at Northumbria University in Newcastle, U.K., where he was awarded a PhD on Tangible Interfaces in 2021.

Since 2024, Nemeth has been researching—together with partners in the U.K. and the Netherlands—whether, and if so how, Large Language Models (AI chatbots) can truly assist artists and designers in their creative processes.

In addition to this, and in partnership with Nottingham Trent University, Nemeth is initiating a research project that explores the telling of untruths (or bullshitting) by Large Language Models through the making of a (synthetic) ethnography of these systems.
