Stefanie Kolk

Stefanie Kolk is an Amsterdam-based filmmaker, screenwriter and script consultant with a love for rethinking screenwriting conventions. After studying biophysics and living in Japan, she graduated from the Netherlands Film Academy. Her short films Clan, Harbour, and Eyes on the Road premiered at Locarno’s Pardi di Domani.

Her debut feature MELK premiered in 2023 at Venice’s Giornate degli Autori and won several awards, including Best Film at Crossing Europe; it was later voted Best Dutch Film of 2024 by the Circle of Dutch Film Journalists. She is currently developing her second feature, A Dog Follows, and currently works as a screenwriter for artist Celine Daemen.

Stefanie was the mentor of Philip Ullman during Vrijplaats 2025: Animation.
