Gathering and support

Next to the regular programme offer, FilmForward organises round table talks and assemblies as a connecting party; meant to gather ideas and needs, and to support existing initiatives, networks, and communities.

Central to this is the exchange of ideas to make the sector durable and future-proof, and an interdisciplinary approach. All assemblies are put together with different audiovisual organisations. We also look into how FilmForward can organise additional activities to these assemblies in the form of a workshop or follow-up, with which the sector can be strengthened.

FeedForward Community
The FeedForward community consists of a group of industry professionals from various disciplines. Using their advice, we develop and organise programmes that address the needs and pressing issues in the sector. The FeedForward community meets twice a year.

The current group consists of Indra Baars, Rogier Kramer, Bibi Fadlalla, Rosanne Fontaine, Sarieke Hoeksma, Marcel Huibers, Chee-han Kartosen-Wong, and Joris Kerbosch. Read more about the FeedForward community here.

FeedForward Focustafels
In collaboration with sector organisations, we organise assemblies and round table talks on pressing themes in the sector. For instance, the assembly ‘Working with a disability in the audiovisual sector’ organised in collaboration with ACT Acteursbelangen, and the ‘Interdisciplinary assembly with intimacy coordinators’ organised in collaboration with Intimiteitscoördinatoren Nederland.

FilmForwardFika
FilmForwardFika are assemblies we facilitate for communities in the film- and av-sector to strengthen their network, exchange experiences and ideas, and to work on new initiatives. For instance, the FilmForwardFika in collaboration with Vrouwen in Beeld, Buma Music in Motion, and Pan Asian Collective.

Supporting the sector
We support small initiatives and trade unions with developing programmes that help professionalise the sector. For instance Cinemind, Animatie in Kleur, Actor Director Studio, RFX Academy, and trade union ACM Filmprofessionals.

‘Werkatelier Talentontwikkeling’
FilmForward takes part in the ‘Werkatelier Talentontwikkeling in de AV-sector’ from the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science. This is where (public) organisations with programmes for talent development come together, and brainstorm about a shared vision on talent development within the audiovisual field; with concrete actions and follow-up plans.
